Every once in a while, a technology comes along that proves to be a game-changer. It’s disruptive (in a good way) and universal, changing the way multiple industries functions and grow.
One of the biggest game-changing technologies right now is drones—unmanned aerial devices (UAVs)—and we’re starting to see them everywhere, from consumer electronics to agriculture and everything in between.
Amazon will be using drones through Prime Air, their “future delivery system…to safely get packages into customers’ hands in 30 minutes or less using small unmanned aerial vehicles.” Firefighters, such as those in Clayton County, GA, are relying on them to get an aerial view of hard-to-reach places and respond immediately.
In the agriculture realm, drones are increasingly being used “to help identify field and livestock issues early and rectify them before crop loss occurs or shortly after that.” This technology allows farmers to “aerially view fields as never before… to detect insect, disease, and water threats more effectively than the human eye.”
Some experts predict that three-quarters of the country’s drone fleet will be used within the agriculture industry.
Whether in aerospace and defense, farming, package delivery or the countless other ways UAVs are proving invaluable, it’s clear that they’re a buzzworthy technology that’s here to stay.
At CEF Industries—as aerospace manufacturing experts for almost 70 years—we have the electro-mechanical experience and knowledge that makes it possible for these drones to perform their mission. We’ve been involved in the game-changing innovations that have transformed the aerospace industry over the past seven decades, and we’re poised to take on this latest innovation, bringing our knowledge and passion to the latest drone technology needs and applications.
We welcome your questions and invite you to contact us to see how we can make this technology work for you—and we look forward to what the future of UAV use holds.
